Job Purpose:

The main purpose of this job is to facilitate efficient and effective operation of the accounting process.
Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant are as follows:

    To initiate preparation of payment vouchers;
    To originate basic Accounting documents and post to the ledger;
    To maintain proper filing of all accounting documents;
    To conduct daily reconciliation of accounts;
    To update ledger cards on a daily basis to ensure compliance with international accounting standards;
    To receive cash and check payments and have them banked in the initiative’s designated accounts;
    To dispatch signed cheques;
    To batch payment vouchers for data input;
    To manage petty cash and pay out cash against petty cash vouchers;
    To balance the petty cash books on a daily basis and prepare the cash position statements;
    To perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance Option) or equivalent;
    Must possess Part II of Professional Accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, ICPAU);

Work Experience:

    Relevant working experience of not less than 5 years, in accounting finance environment;
    Proficiency in computer-based accounting and general office computer applications (Microsoft applications Including Word, Excel and Outlook).

Skills and Competencies:

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Self-motivated with ability to work with minimum supervision.

Eligibility:

The candidate must not be more than 54 years old.

Job Purpose:

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Implements security policies, strategies and procedures of the Assembly;
    Lead the Speaker to and from the House at each sitting and be present throughout the sitting to act as directed by the Speaker and to lead the president when performing official Parliament roles;
    Ensure security of the Assembly Assets, the Hon. Speaker, Hon. Members and staff and all the strangers/visitors entering the precincts of the Assembly;
    In liaison with the police and court, investigate and prosecute any offence committed within the precincts of the House;
    Carry and protect the Mace as a symbol of authority and smooth conduct of business of the House;
    Ensure orderly admission and conduct of stranger to any part of the Assembly by issuance of entry cards;
    Keep any fire arms and any other prohibited properly brought into the precincts of the Assembly;
    Effective and efficient maintenance services to the buildings, grounds and in liaison with user departments furnishes the offices and Committee rooms;
    Act as Custodian of all Parliament building keys including keys for pigeonholes;
    Provide Safety and Fire measures, health protection and First Aid Services;
    Assist to prepare progress and annual reports of the department;
    Promote a positive corporate culture and image of the Community/Assembly.; and
    Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.

Qualifications and Experience:

     A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Criminology, Law, Security Management or related field.
    5 years of experience as Assistant Serjeant-At-Arms or similar position; or 7 years as a commissionaire/Senior Chamber attendant/Security assistant with security background; or served in the forces at rank of Inspector/Captain or equivalent rank with 7 years of experience.
    Knowledge of the dynamics and operations of Parliament is an added advantage.

    Educate the public on the merger provisions of the Regulations as well as draft relevant publications for public dissemination and advise the Registrar of the Authority on possible courses of action after a market study is concluded;
    Fostering multilateral cooperation in cross-border merger review among Partner States;
    Network with regional and international merger enforcement agencies and keep an update on latest developments and facilitate the Authority’s participation in key merger market analysis regional and international conferences;
